Solicitação de Patrocínios Corporativos: Dicas para ONGs / OSCs
Companies often partner with NGOs / CSOs in support of their corporate social responsibility. Finding the right partner and securing sponsorships — funds, goods, volunteers, marketing, and other services — doesn't have to be complicated. Christopher Massimine, from Entrepreneur.com, recommends these steps when requesting sponsorship (hint: communication is key):
- Research opportunities and priorities, including comparing your NGO / CSO with similar organizations that have secured corporate sponsorship (amount received, terms, what was funded) and their target sectors.
- Identify and present specific program goals of your NGO / CSO, including measurable success objectives.
- Tailor proposals to the sponsor’s schedules and deliverables, needs, and interests, using data points and successes from previous projects/programs funded through sponsorships.
- Before submitting a proposal or making a personal presentation, prepare a document (formatted and well-edited) with all relevant information, such as budgets, timelines, bios of key team members, and visual resources you plan to present during meetings.
- During the exploratory or negotiation phase, respond promptly to questions.
- Keep lines of communication open with potential sponsors and discuss updates promptly to demonstrate commitment and help with future collaboration and problem-solving.
- If an agreement is reached, honor your commitments until the project is completed.
- Send progress and outcome reports at each milestone.
A social project for NGOs is key to providing structure and direction to actions aimed at transforming the reality of vulnerable communities. Through it, the NGO organizes its initiatives, optimizes resource use, and generates impact efficiently. Well-planned projects also strengthen the organization’s credibility and attract more supporters.
