Oito Tendências que Tornam a Filantropia e o Investimento Social do Brasil mais Estratégicos e Transformadores
According to the Perspectives for Brazilian Philanthropy in 2023, published by the Institute for the Development of Social Investment (IDIS), eight key trends are helping Brazilian philanthropists and social investors act more strategically, effectively, and swiftly. One of these trends is that NGOs/CSOs are gaining relevance, with the 2023 Edelman Trust Barometer Country Report showing that trust in NGOs/CSOs among Brazilians has risen to 60%. Two other trends that affect NGOs/CSOs are their succession planning and the involvement of donors in NGO/CSO causes and boards—and conversely, the involvement of NGOs/CSOs in corporate efforts to improve social performance. The full list of trends is as follows:
- Dialogue, bridge-building, and collaboration are effective necessities for creating solutions
- Companies are considering their legacy, not just "CSR"
- Diverse models and funding sources are needed to address challenges
- Social Impact Assessments are just the beginning (and still debated); next steps are needed
- There is greater integration of environmental and social agendas
- Public policy advocacy by NGOs/CSOs is accelerating systemic change
- NGOs/CSOs are gaining relevance, trust, governance, and transparency
- Philanthropists and individuals are making their donation commitments and practices public
A social project for NGOs is the foundation for transforming ideas into concrete actions that generate positive impact in society. These projects allow organizations to focus their efforts on meeting specific needs, mobilize resources, and engage communities. Moreover, they strengthen the NGO’s mission and create measurable results—essential for attracting donors and demonstrating the value of their work.
Fundraising for NGOs/CSOs/OCIPs is crucial to making projects that promote positive social impact viable. Without adequate resources, many organizations struggle to sustain their activities or scale their initiatives. A strategic fundraising process helps attract supporters, ensure financial stability, and maximize the results of their efforts.
